Soft structured carriers (SSC’s) or buckle carriers; these are based on the same mei tai design of a panel of fabric but instead of long straps there are buckles to simply click and go! Again, like mei tais, they come in different shapes and sizes and we have some of the best for you to have a look at and hire in the library. These are perfect for people who do a lot of forest walks as there are no long tails or straps to drag in the mud and they can often prove popular with Dads as they have a more ‘rugged’ look, like a backpack.

Lenny Lamb Ergonomic carrier

These carriers are made from Lenny Lamb woven wrap fabric, they have 3 way safety buckles to prevent accidental opening and 4 way adjustable shoulder straps for a perfect fit. They have an adjustable hood, legs out padding and soft padded shoulder straps. Straps can be crossed or used rucksack style.

These are massively popular buckle carriers, this standard version can be used from 7kg and as it is larger than lots of carriers it will last into early toddlerhood. It is soft and comfortable with a padded waistband and straps, and removable hood.

This carrier features a supportive waistband and wide padded shoulder straps that can be crossed or worn rucksack style, the padded headrest can be worn up to provide neck support or folded and clipped out of the way. Boba 4G

This is the upgraded version of the Boba 3G, it retains all of the favourite features with key improvements made to the infant support system that allows it to be used easily with different sized infants. These carriers are great, they are lightweight so can easily be cinched in with the accessory strap to make them suitable for newborns. The lack of waist padding means that they fold very small when not in use – ideal for popping in the changing bag.
